Betty Ann Drone, 63, of Clinton, IL passed away at 6:11 p.m. on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at home surrounded by loved ones.
Betty was born on November 1, 1957, in Decatur, the only child of Bobby Ray and Lila Leann (Buckley) West. She attended Mt. Zion High School. Betty worked as a floral designer, for 20 years, starting at Creek’s Florist then for Betty and Bob’s Flower Shop in Decatur. She then worked dietary through Aramark and the Decatur School District before becoming the Dietary Supervisor at Warner Hospital in Clinton, where she officially retired from in June of 2020.
Betty is survived by her loving partner, William “Wild Bill” Smith of Clinton; daughters: Twila (John) Stukins of Shelbyville and Tabithia (Josh) Buggar of Clinton; five grandchildren: Bobby (Amber) Funk, Tracy Gatheright and fiancé Eric Smith, Dakota Bowery, Katarina Lourash and Alexander Millspaugh; three great-grandchildren: Bruce Smith, Bella Funk and Corbin Slaymaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
In keeping with Betty’s wishes no services will be held at this time. A celebration of Betty’s life will be held in Clinton at a later date. Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville is assisting the family.
