Clinton Camic Obituary

Clinton Andrew Camic, 97, of Windsor, IL passed away at 10:20 a.m. on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL.  

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 1, 2021 at Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home in Windsor with Reverend Jim Dona officiating.  Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.  Burial will be in Windsor Cemetery with military rites performed by the Garrett-Baldridge American Legion #725 of Windsor. Memorials may be made in Clinton’s name to the Garrett-Baldridge American Legion #725 of Windsor and mailed to Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home, %Clinton Camic, 207 N Oak, Windsor, IL 61957.

Clinton was born on April 18, 1923, in Okaw Township, Shelby County, the son of Andrew and Amy (Crook) Camic.  He served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of WWII.  Clinton and Jane Gentry were united in holy matrimony on May 1, 1988, in Windsor, and were blessed with 32 years of marriage.  Clinton was a retired IBEW Local 146 electrician.  He was a member of AMVETS #128 of Shelbyville, VFW Post 6410 of Sullivan, and a charter member of the Garrett-Baldridge American Legion #725 of Windsor since 1946.  He enjoyed gardening, collecting veteran memorabilia and he took great pride in taking care of his home.

He is survived by his lovely wife, Jane Camic of Windsor; son, Greg (Karen) Camic of Thornton, CO; stepchildren:  Theresa (Jim) Miller of Arthur, Kenneth Riggs of Arthur, Greg (Rita) Riggs of Colorado Springs, CO, and Margaret (Brian) Sparbel of Milan; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters:  Mae Rodman of Shelbyville and Edna Bragg of Forsyth.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Camic; great-grandson, Seth Hilton; brother, Bill Camic; sister, Rose Banks and stepdaughter, Marsha Keeling.
