Daniel "Danny" L. Kearney

Daniel “Danny” L. Kearney, 65, of Windsor, IL passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at home surrounded by the love of his family. 

Danny was born on July 20, 1957, in Shelbyville, the son of Keith and Opal (Flemming) Kearney. He worked as an engineer with the Illinois Department of Transportation for over 20 years before his retirement.  He enjoyed fishing, playing pool and spending time with family and friends.  His greatest joys in life were his children and grandchildren. 

Danny is survived by his son, Stephen (Melissa) Kearney; stepson, Jeremy Cobb; daughter, Paige (Calvin) Grames; grandchildren:  Gracie, Averie and Briar Kearney; friend and ex-wife, Wanda Kearney; brother, Duane (Judith) Kearney, all of Windsor; sisters: Darlene McGinnis of Springfield, MO and Judy (Greg) Durflinger of Greentop, MO and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Shane Kearney; brothers: Roger Dale and Darrell Kearney; sister, Rita Kearney, brother-in-law, Chuck McGinnis and nephew, Bobby Kearney.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2023, in Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home in Windsor with Pastor Jason Kinder officiating.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.  Burial will take place in Ash Grove Cemetery in rural Windsor.  Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home in Windsor is assisting the family.

Danny's friendly nature and loving heart will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the stories shared by his family and friends, and the legacy of love and kindness he leaves behind. As we remember Danny, we celebrate the life of a man who was truly one of a kind, and whose impact on those around him will never be forgotten.
