Dennis Beck

Dennis Beck, 69, of Beecher City, IL passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at home.  

Dennis was born on January 4, 1951, in Shelbyville, the son of Larry and Lydia (Childress) Beck.    Dennis spent his entire life in the Beecher City area, graduating from Beecher City High School in 1969.  Dennis and Wanda Larimore were united in marriage on August 23, 1975 in Beecher City and were blessed with 43 years of marriage before Wanda’s passing on June 8, 2019.  Dennis retired in 2004 from World Color Press in Effingham after 32 years of service.  Dennis and Wanda enjoyed attending their grandchildren’s sporting events and were avid St. Louis Cardinals and Illinois Fighting Illini fans. 

Surviving are two sons:  Dan (Cristy) Beck of Beecher City and Josh (Jill) Beck of Wesley Chapel, FL; grandchildren:  Aiden, Courtney, Braden and Bryce; siblings:   Shelby Strickland of Decatur, Richard (Janet) Beck of Bella Vista, AR, Ronald Beck of Effingham, Leila (Mike) Wills of Beecher City and Roger (Rachel) Beck of Effingham; sister-in-law, Jan (Wayne) Werner of Effingham and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Lydia Beck; wife, Wanda Beck; brother, Michael L. Beck; sister, Bonnie (Robert) Doty and brother-in-law, Carl Strickland. 

In keeping with Dennis’s wishes, no services will be held.  Memorials may be made in Dennis’s name to:  Crossroads Cancer Center, 905 Medical Park Drive, Effingham, IL 62401, Spring Hill Cemetery, c/o Steve Wright, 2827 N 2100 Street, Beecher City, IL 62414 or the donor’s favorite charity.  Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Beecher City is assisting the family.
