Don worked as a tool and die machinist for Caterpillar Inc. in Joliet for 36 years until his retirement at which time he and Char relocated to Windsor. He did not stay retired for long before going back to work for G.L. Doemelt in Arcola for another eight years. Don enjoyed working, boating, visiting St. Pete Beach, playing euchre, motorcycles, lending a helping hand, working on projects around the house, vehicles, and boat. He loved watching Illini basketball and Da Bears.
