Juanita May Tucker, 95, of Shelbyville, IL, formerly of Findlay, IL, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, in the Shelbyville Manor in Shelbyville, IL.
Juanita was born on February 13, 1928, in Windsor, the daughter of John and Ethel (Steele) Graven. She was a 1946 graduate of Findlay High School. Juanita and Sheldon Tucker were married on November 30, 1947 and were blessed with 57 years of marriage before his passing on May 22, 2005. Juanita wore many hats through the years from working at Sta-Rite Ginnie Lou in Shelbyville, running a daycare, cleaning houses and being an in-home caretaker however she was the happiest when taking care of her family. She was the most amazing wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Juanita took great pride in raising her five children and later spoiling and loving her 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, whether it be vegetable or flower gardening, motorcycle trips with Sheldon and she loved watching Illini basketball. Juanita was a long-time member of the Findlay United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children: Michael (Julie) Tucker of Findlay, Sharon Howard of Decatur, Karen (Dan) Allen of Decatur, Alan (Bobbi) Tucker of Ono, CA and Brenda (Michael) Berg of Goldsboro, NC; grandchildren: Carissa Rueff, Travis Rueff, Jason Tucker, Jessica Coleman, James Ryan, Jennifer Ryan, Sarah Smithson, Shelby Tucker, Allison Gross, Christopher Berg and Brandon Berg; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara (Ed) Olivier of Strasburg and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; sister, Lucille and brother, Wendell.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, February 20, 2023, in Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville with Pastor Mike Reynolds officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in Findlay Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Juanita’s name to HSHS St. John’s Hospice and mailed to 302 W. Main St., Shelbyville, IL 62565. Lockart-Green Funeral Home is assisting the family.
