Judith JoAnna (Finks) Froehlich

Judith JoAnna Froehlich, known affectionately as JoAnna, 75, of Shelbyville, Illinois, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2023, in HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.

Born on December 16, 1947, in Decatur, the daughter of Alfred and Geraldine (Hester) Finks.

In her early years, JoAnna found her adventurous spirit while living in Northern Wisconsin, where she worked in logging.  Throughout her life, JoAnna maintained her connection with nature by enjoying long drives in the countryside, marveling at the beauty of the changing seasons.  Shopping was another of JoAnna's passions, especially when it came to finding the perfect piece of jewelry. JoAnna's love for jewelry was an extension of her vibrant personality, as she enjoyed adding a touch of sparkle to her everyday life. 

JoAnna was the beloved sister of Russell Finks of Findlay, stepsisters Janet Stephens of Herrick and Marge Stewart of Greenup, and stepbrothers Lonnie Finks of Toledo and Alfred E. Finks of Arkansas. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Donna Mowell, brother David Michael Finks, and stepbrother Gene Finks.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2023, in Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville followed by burial in Glenwood Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.  Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville is assisting the family.
