Karen Ann Lund, 78, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, in the loving care of Heartland Senior Living in Neoga.
Karen was born on February 12, 1943, in Chicago, the daughter of John and Katheryn (Maxwell) Krause. On November 7, 1964, Karen and Philip “Phil” C. Lund were united in holy matrimony and were blessed with 44 years of marriage before his passing on September 10, 2009. They were longtime residents of Mokena before retiring to Shelbyville. Most of all, Karen was a devoted friend and lover of all animals, especially the numerous rescue dogs that she had adopted through the years. Karen was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Shelbyville.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Robert Krause.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 18, 2021, in Glenwood Cemetery with Father Pawel Augustyniak officiating. Memorials may be given to Saving Orphaned Animals in Shelbyville or to the animal rescue of your choice. Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville is assisting the family.
