Laura Lea Neblick, 53, of Pueblo, Colorado, formerly of Shelbyville, Illinois, passed away on May 22, 2023, in Pueblo, Colorado, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Laura was born on December 2, 1969, in Decatur, Illinois, the middle child of Don and Pam (Brown) Ramey. A beauty school graduate, Laura had a keen eye for fashion and style. She was known for her impeccably coordinated outfits, accessories, and hairstyles, as well as her uniquely designed nails. Laura's sense of humor and infectious laughter brightened every room, and her warmth and kindness endeared her to those fortunate enough to cross her path. Laura was a true adventurer at heart, having lived in Las Vegas, Nevada, before moving to Colorado in 2006, where she resided for the remainder of her life. Her love for travel took her to many beautiful and exciting destinations, including Australia, Panama Canal, Alaska, Mexico, and the eastern Caribbean. Cruising was one of her favorite ways to explore the world, and she cherished the memories created on each voyage. One of Laura's greatest passions was discovering new restaurants featured on the Triple-D television show. Her culinary adventures led her across the United States, always eager to find a new favorite dining spot. She also enjoyed attending concerts and sharing unforgettable experiences with her daughter, Brittany. The bond between mother and daughter was truly special, and their adventures together will be cherished forever.
Laura is survived by her daughter, Brittany Ramey of Taylorville, Illinois; her brother, Lynn Ramey of Shelbyville, Illinois and many dear friends. Laura's love extended beyond her human family, as she was also the most amazing mom to Popsicle, her beloved canine companion of ten years. Popsicle brought joy and comfort to Laura during her bravest fight.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lewis and Mildred Brown; parents, Don and Pam Ramey; husband, James Neblick; brother, Lew Ramey and niece, Cassandra "Cassy" Nicole Ramey.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, in Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville, Illinois followed by burial in Glenwood Cemetery in Shelbyville, Illinois. Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville, Illinois is assisting the family.
In the last eight months of her life, Laura faced her battle with cancer head-on, undergoing rigorous chemotherapy treatments with unwavering courage and determination. Though a cure was not meant to be, Laura's fighting spirit and unyielding strength will forever inspire those who knew her. Laura will be remembered as an adventurous, funny, and courageous woman, whose love for life and family knew no bounds. Her legacy will live on through the memories and stories shared by those who were blessed to have known her. Laura, you will be greatly missed.
