Lena L. Reedy, 49, of Shelbyville, IL passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022, with family by her side, in Indianapolis University Hospital unable to overcome illness.
Born and raised in Shelbyville, Lena was a lifetime resident. She loved calling Shelbyville her hometown. After a short time working in health care, Lena met Steve Watson of Shelbyville where they brought their families together to raise five children: Cassi, Calvin, Justin, Caitlyn and Aaron. Anyone that knows Lena, understands that nothing made her happier than seeing her family grow. She will always be known for her strength and the love she showed her family throughout her life. Lena spent her entire life making the people around her better and would do anything for them.
Lena is survived by her ex-husband, Steve Watson; children: Cassi Cox (Brad), Calvin Watson, Justin Reedy, Caitlyn Watson and Aaron Watson; 17 grandchildren: Dominik, Adam, Nathaniel and Diana (Cassi), Cloe, Calvin, Brayden and Ryker (Calvin), Ryker (Justin) Jay Nees, Esme, Naomi, Elliot and Chase (Aaron). Chase, the little boy that brought so much sunshine and hope into Lena’s world. Her family was her love story.

“You never said I’m leaving, you never said goodbye. You were gone before we knew it and only God knows why. A million times we needed you, a million times we cried. If love alone could have saved you, you would be here by our side. In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place that no one will ever fill. It breaks our hearts to lose you, but you didn’t die alone. For part of us was with you, the day God took you home.” Unknown
