Lorraine "Lori" Edwards

Lorraine "Lori" Edwards, 47, of Herrick, Illinois passed away at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 10, 2020, surrounded by her loving family, at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, in Effingham, after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Lori was born on May 12, 1972, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Rod and Linda (Randolph) Laughlin. She was a 1990 graduate of Clinton High School in Clinton, Iowa. Lori and Arthur "Art" Edwards were united in holy matrimony on December 22, 1991. Lori worked as a PTF clerk with the United States Postal Service and was the friendly smile that greeted many of us in the surrounding post offices. Lori was an active member of the Herrick Baptist Church. She loved horses, crocheting, spending time on the Mississippi River, experiencing new adventures, and attending her children's sporting events. She cherished her time spent with her grandchildren and her very special friend, Amy Hoyt. The greatest gift in Lori's life was being blessed as a wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all.

Surviving are her parents, Rod (Linda) Laughlin of Sabula, IA; husband, Art Edwards of Herrick; children: Ashton (Andrew) Cunningham of Ramsey, Taylor (Kevin Otto) Edwards of Ramsey and Alec Edwards of Herrick; granddaughters: Brailynn, Tinliegh and Aubrey Otto; grandson: Bentley Otto; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arthur (Mary) Edwards Sr.; brothers-in-law: Fred (Amy) Hoyt, John (Jodie) Edwards and Pat (Lindy) Edwards and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Lewis (Lorraine) Randolph and Robert (Darlene) Laughlin.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the Herrick Baptist Church with Pastor Jay Huddleston officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2020 at the Herrick Baptist Church. Memorials may be made in Lori's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. A private family burial will be held.
