Mary Heiman Obituary

Mary Louise Allen Heiman, 81, of Shelbyville, IL, formerly of Herrick, IL, passed away at 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2021 in the Shelbyville Manor with her loving daughter by her side.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Cowden with George Allen officiating.  Burial will take place in Myers Cemetery in rural Herrick.  Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Cowden.  Memorials may be made in Mary’s name to the Chloe West Toy Drive at the Community Banks of Shelby County in Cowden or Herrick or mailed to Lockart-Green Funeral Home, %Mary Heiman, 302 W. Main St., Shelbyville, IL 62565.  Arrangements are in the care of Lockart-Green Funeral Home.    

Mary was born on December 1, 1939, in Herrick, the daughter of Joseph and Josephine (Sarver) Allen.  She married Harvey J. Heiman in 1957 and from that union they were blessed with five children:  Ricky, Alan, Veronica, Jeanie and Meronda.  Mary was a homemaker who treasured her time caring for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.   She was a member of the Church of the Living God.  One would often find Mary sitting quietly in the room reading her Bible, listening to gospel music or crocheting.

Surviving are her son, Alan Boyd (Marla) Heiman of Cowden; daughters:  Jeanie (Neal) West of Cowden and Meronda (Robert) Barnes of Beecher City; son-in-law, Larry Beck of Pana; brothers:  Glenn Allen, George Allen and Alva Allen; sister, Donna Galvin; half-brothers:  Lloyd Allen and Richard Allen; half-sisters:  Connie Allen, Lori Miller and Audrey Enyart and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren whom she dearly loved.    

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Ricky Heiman; daughter, Veronica Beck; granddaughter, Chloe West; grandsons:  Alan Boyd Heiman and John Michael Beck.
