Ricky T. Jones

Ricky T. Jones, 64, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2023, surrounded by the love of family. 

Ricky was born on February 28, 1959, in Danville, Illinois, the son of Jack and Loteta (Bowers) Jones.  He was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, and he pursued a successful career as a journeyman lineman. Starting his career in 1978, Ricky dedicated nearly three decades to Ameren, before retiring in 2007.  A man of faith, Ricky was an active member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Pana, where he found solace and joy. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding his actions and inspiring those around him. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Kansas. 

Ricky was a lover of the outdoors and found great pleasure in fishing. He was also a passionate animal lover, with a special fondness for his K9 companions. But above all, Ricky held his family at the center of his heart. His grandchildren were his greatest joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Ricky was a devoted family man, cherishing 34 blissful years of marriage to his devoted wife, Vickie of Tower Hill. His love for his family was boundless, and he was a proud father to four children: Jainy (Eric) Gulley of Newton, Indiana, Robby (Sarah) Jones of Henton, Ginger (Beau) Etter of Tower Hill, and Randy Jones of Tower Hill. He was a doting grandfather to his 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  He also leaves behind siblings, Roy (Madge) Jones, Goyita (Richard) Young, Madeana (Russell) White, Kelly Jones, Dink (Laura) Snow, and Tracy Snow and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and his loyal K9 companion, Sassy.  His love for his family was evident in his every action and his legacy will live on through them.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Jim Snow; son, Ricky Jones; brother, Jeffery Snow, and his beloved K9, Hoss.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 1, 2023, in Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville with Reverend Jonathan Blake officiating.  Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.  Memorials may be made to “Ricky T.
