Rita K. (Finfrock) Moore

Rita K. Moore, 82, of Cowden, IL, passed away at 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, in Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.  

Rita was born on July 16, 1939, in Effingham, the daughter of Clarence and Sarah (Buerger) Finfrock.  She was a graduate of Effingham High School.  She went on to study court recording at Sparks Business College and that is where she met the love of her life, Thomas A. Moore.  Rita and Thomas were united in holy matrimony on December 29, 1957, in Effingham, and were blessed with 54 years of marriage before his passing on August 5, 2012.  Rita owned and operated Rita’s Craftique in Beecher City for 15 years.  She served as a girl scout leader for many years, was active with the Shelby County Home Extension and the Cowden Centennial and Pioneer Days Celebration committees for many years.  She was also a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star.  She enjoyed crafting, gardening, cooking, tending to her flowers, visiting flea markets and sharing her craft creations with others.  

Surviving are her three children:  Angie (Larry) Miller of Lerna, Alan (Rachel) Moore of Strasburg and Carla Williamson of Leavenworth, KS; two grandchildren:  Jessica Clifford of Overland Park, KS and Marc (Bethany) Clifford of Killeen, TX; two great-grandchildren:  Tucker and Emily, both of Killeen, TX; sister-in-law, Joyce and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, Daniel Williamson and brothers:  Paul Finfrock, Ronald Finfrock and Carl Finfrock. 

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 25, 2021 in Mound Cemetery in rural Cowden.  Memorials may be made to the Cowden First Responders, P.O. Box 324, Cowden, IL 62422.  Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Cowden is assisting the family.
