Robert H. Mowry, 72, of Brownstown, IL, passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, in Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, MO.
Robert was born on March 21, 1949, in Shelbyville, the son of Robert and Gladys (Christy) Mowry Sr. He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked as a material handler for Caterpillar in Decatur retiring after 30 years of dedicated service. Robert was a member of the Four Mile Christian Church in rural Brownstown and the Clarence Bixler American Legion Post 409 of Findlay. He had a passion for old hot rod cars and was the founding father of the Adventure Cruisers. He also enjoyed NASCAR and time with his loved ones.
He is survived by his mother, Gladys Brooks of Vandalia; son, Robert (Kasey) Mowry Jr. of Bethany and Gregory (Theresa) Mowry of Brownstown; six grandchildren: Davis, Nichael, Maci, Jaxon, Christian and Emily.
Robert was preceded in death by his grandparents; father, Robert Mowry Sr.; son, Christopher Mowry and aunt, Louise.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 16, 2021, in Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville with Wes Bell officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at a later date in Findlay Cemetery with military honors by the Clarence Bixler American Legion Post 409 of Findlay. Memorials may be made to the Four Mile Christian Church, RR2 Box 2, Brownstown, IL 62418. The family request casual attire. Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville is assisting the family.
