Robert A. Noyes, 92, of Beecher City, IL passed away at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 6, 2022, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family.
Robert was born on June 21, 1929, in Irving, the son of Charlie and Nellie (Taylor) Noyes. He served in the United States Army from 1950-1953. Robert and Florence Marie Gilmour were married on March 22, 1960, in East St. Louis, and were blessed with 61 years of marriage before her passing on November 21, 2015. Robert retired from PPG Industries in Mt. Zion after 30 years of service while farming in the Cowden and Findlay areas all his life. He was a member of the Shelby Christian Church in Shelbyville. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing and time with family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are his children: John Berta of Shelbyville, Dale Scott Noyes of Toledo, Jeanie (Walt) Mummel of Waddell, AZ, Glenda Gail (Rick) Miller of Windsor and Norma Endris-Schmidt of Mahomet; grandchildren: Matthew (Michelle) Mummel, Amanda (Steve) Brown, Heidi Miller, Nate (Rebecca) Miller, Joseph (Amanda) Endris, Major Paul (Katherine) Endris and Dr. Michael (Kelsey) Endris; 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and ten siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 10, 2022, in Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville with Pastor Mark Sanders officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in Glenwood Cemetery in Shelbyville with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Peoria or the Windsor Storm Memorial Library and mailed to 302 W. Main St., Shelbyville, IL 62565. Lockart-Green Funeral Home is assisting the family.
