Robert Wayne “Emmy” Steele, 69, of Beecher City, passed away at 4:10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Aperion Care in St. Elmo.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate the life well lived by Emmy on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the Beecher City Area Kluthe Center. The service will begin at 11:30 a.m., doors will open at 11:00 a.m. A catered meal will be provided after the service. The family requests casual attire. Due to COVID-19 concerns, please practice social distancing. Face coverings are recommended but not required. Memorials may be made in Emmy’s name to the Aperion Care of St. Elmo, Donor's Favorite Charity or Tri-County Fire Department. Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Beecher City is assisting the family.
Emmy was born November 19, 1951, in Shelbyville, the son of Verl W. and Wanda J. (Jones) Steele. After graduating from Beecher City High School, he worked as a mechanic, farmed and was employed by Loudon Township. He was an avid mushroom hunter who enjoyed time with family and friends. He loved his dogs and had a special affinity for Mr. McKinley, the dog at Donaldson’s Standard.
Emmy is survived by three brothers: Dennis (Carol) Steele, Roger (Barbara) Steele and David (Diane) Steele, all of Beecher City; nieces and nephews: Darren, Stacy, Angela, Becky, Shannon and Danny and several great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Walter and Myrtle Jones and Cal and Nell Steele.
