Robert Wayne “Emmy” Steele, 69, of Beecher City, IL passed away at 4:10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Aperion Care in St. Elmo, IL.

Emmy was born November 19, 1951, in Shelbyville, the son of Verl W. and Wanda J. (Jones) Steele.  After graduating from Beecher City High School, he worked as a mechanic, farmed and was employed by Loudon Township. Robert Wayne “Emmy” Steele, 69, of Beecher City, IL passed away at 4:10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Aperion Care in St. Elmo, IL.

Emmy was born November 19, 1951, in Shelbyville, the son of Verl W. and Wanda J. (Jones) Steele.  After graduating from Beecher City High School, he worked as a mechanic, farmed and was employed by Loudon Township. He was an avid mushroom hunter who enjoyed time with family and friends. He loved his dogs and had a special affinity for Mr. McKinley, the dog at Donaldson’s Standard.

A memorial service will be held at a later date, possibly in mushroom season. Memorials may be made to the Tri-County Fire Department or donor’s choice.  Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Beecher City is assisting the family.

Emmy is survived by three brothers: Dennis (Carol) Steele, Roger (Barbara) Steele and David (Diane) Steele, all of Beecher City; nieces and nephews: Darren, Stacy, Becky, Shannon and Danny and several great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Walter and Myrtle Jones and Cal and Nel Steele.
