Obituary
Sharon Kay Miner, 79, of Lakewood, IL, formerly of Findlay, IL, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at home, surrounded by her loved ones.
Sharon was born on November 7, 1943, in Findlay, the daughter of Dayton and Dorothy (Stumpf) Mode. She was a 1961 graduate of Findlay High School. Sharon and Wendell Miner were married in January 1964 and were blessed with 17 years of marriage before his passing in 1981. She worked in the Accounting Department at Lake Land Community College in Mattoon for many years. Sharon enjoyed quilting, cooking and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
She leaves behind her two sons: Don (Stephanie) Miner of Mattoon and Dion Miner (Janie Sarabia) of Lakewood; four grandchildren: Brooke, Wade, Devin and Brianna; three great-grandchildren; sister, Cheryl Marlow of Findlay; loyal companion, Baleigh and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, two brothers and two sisters.
Honoring Sharon’s wishes, no service will be held. Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville is assisting the family.
