Obituary

Sharon Ann Waugh, 72, of Beecher City, Illinois, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2023, in Effingham, Illinois. Born on May 20, 1951, in Urbana, Illinois, she was the daughter of William and Julle (Hunter) Burke.

Sharon found joy and tranquility in painting, crocheting and home improvement projects. She was always there for her family and friends, offering a comforting word, a listening ear, or a helping hand. Her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

She leaves behind three children: Killy Waugh of Tuscola, Julie Ann (Glen) Dunn of Beecher City, and Ryan (Heather) Waugh of Herrick. Her love extended to her 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband of 32 years, James Waugh; son, James Matthews; sister, Betty J. Babs and her significant other, Dennis Blankenship.

Honoring Sharon’s wishes, no services will be held. Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Beecher City is assisting the family.
