Virginia P. (Quast) Anderson

Virginia P. Anderson, 86, of Sigel, Illinois, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2023, in Effingham.  Born in Stewardson, on October 9, 1937, she was the beloved daughter of Edward and Frieda (Mientzer) Quast.  Virginia married Roger S. Anderson on October 31, 1959, and together they built a life filled with love and laughter. Roger preceded her in death on December 28, 2021, leaving a void that was felt deeply by all who knew them. Despite this loss, Virginia continued to embody the strength and resilience that were the hallmarks of her character. 

Virginia was a woman of many interests, all of which revolved around her deep love for her family. She treasured the time spent with her loved ones, especially family dinners. A keen cook, she enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, and her home was always filled with the delicious aromas of her latest culinary creation.  Virginia was also known for her skills in sewing, gardening, and canning, often sharing her creations with those around her. She enjoyed the simple pleasure of browsing through garage sales, always on the lookout for a hidden treasure. Her love, guidance, and support will be deeply missed but will continue to inspire and comfort her loved ones.

Virginia is survived by her children, Tim (Wanda Philpott) Anderson, Richard (Peg McKinney) Wines, Gary (Marlene) Wines, Joyce (David) Barr, Dwayne (Gina) Anderson and Terry Joe (Carole Roley) Anderson. She was a proud grandmother to 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Her siblings, Sam (Lavonne) Quast, Marie (Chester) Musson, Betty (Charlie) Decker, Edward B. (B.J.) Quast and Donna Quast and sister-in-law Marilyn Quast, also survive her. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her great-granddaughter, Elizabeth McEndollar and her brother Eugene Quast.

Private family services will be held.  Brummerstedt Funeral Home in Stewardson is assisting the family.
